In the heart of New Prague, Minnesota, a charming town steeped in history, the Broz Hotel emerged from the hands of craftsmen in 1898. An era defined by horse-drawn carriages and gas lamps, the Broz Hotel stood as a testament to Czechoslovakian architecture, with its intricate hand-painted stained glass windows, rich dark oak interiors, and enduring brick façade. The tin ceilings, installed with meticulous care, still gleam as brightly as they did 125 years ago.  In its early days, this establishment bore witness to the ebb and flow of small-town life, becoming an integral part of the community's fabric.

As time unfolded, the Broz Hotel the famous Schumacher's Restaurant in the 1980s, etching its name in the annals of great mid-western hospitality. Known far and wide for its unparalleled food and warm hospitality,  Schumacher's became a destination for those seeking culinary delights and a welcoming atmosphere. It was an era of decadence and culinary excellence, where the hotel became a hub for both locals and visitors alike. Fast forward to the present day, and the Broz Hotel is experiencing a remarkable renaissance. A benevolent gesture from a generous citizen, a $12 million donation, breathed new life into this historic gem. With unwavering commitment, Caroline Amplatz embarked on a meticulous restoration, preserving the timeless beauty of Czechoslovakian architecture while infusing modern elegance. Now in 2023, The Chris & Nichole Davis family has taken over as stewards with the mission of making The Broz available to the New Prague community for generations to come. To prove our intent, we are donating the first $99,999 of profit to NP POPS.
